v6 "We show we are servants of God by our pure lives, our understanding, patience, and kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by true love, by speaking the truth, and by God's power."

well rounded, wouldn't you say? I've been thinking how super strong advocates of morality (anti-abortionists, etc) very often major on the "speaking the truth" part, and miss the boat on many other things in this list (patience, kindness, true love). Truly, we are called to bring about change by the love and grace reflecting within us, which just shines an even stronger spotlight on the truth when we speak it.

v10 we have nothing but really we have everything." LOVE this.

mmmhmmm. My version says:
"as having nothing, and yet possessing all things". Love it.

I was at Starbucks the other day and overheard a conversation between two people at a table - she was quite vehemently speaking about how we have to LIVE and SHOW our example...can't remember all that she was saying but really it kind of sounded like "blah blah blah..." Like she was spouting off a lot of what she "should" say, but saying it really loudly and it kind of sounded like it might not really amount to much.
obviously, I have no idea since I don't know her, but I was just struck by how we all can *sound* really good and *say* all the right things and with a LOT of conviction, but at the end of the day, what did we actually LOOK like to others? Sometimes I think it's better to shut up and just DO it.
