I love reading accounts of the wars that David fought and won. It must have been an exciting time.

"And the Lord helped David wherever he went" (v6, v13)

That's a recurring theme in this chapter, obviously not to be overlooked since it was repeated. David's success came from the Lord, and not from his own ability. Reminds me of the chapter we read last week for Small Group - from "Desiring God", about prayer, and how helpless we are without God, yet how little we ask Him for help. It was a powerful chapter for me.

Those two verses stood out to me as well. Along those lines though I was thinking how walking in victory doesn't necessarily mean walking devoid of tribulation. Just overcoming. Kind of like courage is no the absence of fear but action in the face of fear if that makes sense.
