"When you have done everything you are told to do, you should say, 'We are unworthy servants; wehave only done the work we should do.'" v 10 Wow. What a slight to the Pharisees who had an attitude like "God should be HONORED to have us for His followers. No, even if you spent your whole day slaving to walk in righteousness, that only means we have been doing the work cut out for us as His servants. It doesn't make us worthy of honors. His grace is amazing.

"As the ten men were going, they were healed." v 14. Proof of their faith. They could not go before the priest while riddled with a skin disease. The fact that they set out BEFORE being healed is proof of their faith that if they obeyed, they WOULD be healed. I love that. Also love the fact that the Samaritan, although knowing that Samaritan's were considered as dogs by Israelites, went back to approach the master in person, sure of not being rejected, or if not sure, worthy to take the shunning in order to do his part. Courage, humility, faith. Amazing.

"God's kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you will be able to see with your eyes.... God's kingdom is within you." v21 and "The time will come when you will want very much to see one of the days of teh Son of Man... People will say to you, "Look, there He is!" ... Stay where you are; don't go away and search." Spectacular. Christ in us. Thy kingdom come.

"When the Son of Man comes again, He will shine like lightning which flashes across the sky and lights it up from one side to the other." v24 Okay, I have a whole new appreciation for this after witnessing the huge meteor that fell on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border earlier this winter. We were eating supper and we have a huge picture window that faces west. Our table sits in such a way that when seated we all are facing north and south, so we aren't facing that particular window. When the meteor fell, it was just one second of spectacular light, but so incredibly bright and seeming to be falling right in our yard (seriously, we thought our power pole had exploded) that we ALL in one accord turned and managed to see it. One second. Blinding brilliance. An incredible sight that you could. not. miss. Goosebumps to think of His coming.
