I love that Saul's servants were totally unwilling to kill the priests. I hate that Doeg did. However, another example of God using someone to complete His purposes - it fulfilled the curse on Eli's house, with the exception of Abiathar, who Solomon later dismissed from the priesthood.

Wow. Saul is really whacked in his head with jealousy and control. Manipulating the men, totally convinced that DAVID wants to kill HIM when the reality is reversed, totally convinced that the priests all knew EXACTLY what was going on and were plotting against him together with David.

How awful to be such a slave to one's imaginings. My mother was like this, and I can tend to get really whacked in my thinking as well if I let myself dwell on negative thoughts, it's like something grips you and starts to spin this web of chaos in your head if you let it get its foot in the door. Reminds me of the passage with Cain where God says "sin is crouching at your door and wants to have you, but you must master it."
