"Your words came to me, and I listened carefully to them. Your words made me very happy, because I am called by your name... I never sat with the crowd as they laughed and had fun. I sat by myself, because you were there, and you filled me with anger at the evil around me." vv 16,17

This resonates deep within me. Come apart and be separate. Long for me and all things "better" and don't be satisfied with worldy pursuit and ultimately empty gain.

"You who have forsaken Me", declares the Lord, "You keep going backward. So I will stretch out my hand against you and destroy you; I am tired of relenting" v6

So many times we see God stretching out His hand in supplication, saying "please return to me" - I was struck by the contrast of the way He is reaching out here - not in an asking way but in an angry way. Now He's reaching out to them, but not to beseech them, rather to destroy them.
