Jeremiah 17

quite possibly one of the most beautiful passages:
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is in the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green..." v7-8

And here I see the opposite effect of what I just saw in the previous passage, when we are focused on our own selfish ambitions, our idolatry, what we have is taken from us and given to others (2-4)

"(Those who trust other people who depend on humans for strength, who have stopped trusting the Lord), are like a bush in a desert that grows in a land where no one lives, a hot and dry land with bad soil. They don't know about the good things God can give." v5-6

So empty and dry. When He wants to pour out blessing.

Every single portion of this chapter is so rich and full I could just dwell on it for a long time. I think I will.
