"Jesus said, 'Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me." v1

I love that so much. Such comfort, such promise.

I love that we can see God by looking at Jesus. He has revealed the God of creation to us.

"Jesus answered, 'If people love me, they will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.'" v23 Amazing.

"I leave you peace; my peace I give to you..." v27 *sigh*.

This passage ties in nicely with the Scripture memory verses I've just started working on today:

Psalm 112:1-8 (NIV)

1 Praise the Lord. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands.

2 His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.

5 Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.

6 Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever.

7 He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

8 His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.

Be blessed, PC!

I was sitting around this morning sipping my coffee and feeling grumpy and crummy and groggy, and I popped over to my blog reading list to see if anyone had posted anything interesting overnight, and there was the posting for our reading today. It smacked me in the forehead and said "maybe you need a little grounding this morning"...I've skipped a few too many days this week and sometimes it shows...

anyway, a little time in the Word was exactly the ticket this morning. Thanks so much for having this blog up PC - it's so great for me.

I love these reminders:
"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments"
"He abides with you and will be in you"

I will do those things because I love Him. The Holy Spirit will be with me. So simple.

Dawn, I love those last two verses: No fear of bad news, his heart is secure, trusting in the Lord.

I had to drag myself to the Word this morning too and I came at it with the attitude that "it wasn't going to speak to me". When will I learn that it always does? When will I get wise to the devil's schemes? Blessing is poured out when we lose/find ourselves in these pages. It all at once humbles and delights me. So glad you're here!
