"They will serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will send to them." v9

Okay, this was a very full chapter rich with millenial hope and promise and I LOVE millenial passages. This verse stood out to me because of a teaching that I heard from Fruchtenbaum on how David would be regent in Jerusalem during the millenium and I had never quite seen for myself the proof text for that. Well, here it appears to be.

It fascinates me to think of the miillenium and how different and marvelous things will be. What great hope. What great comfort.

This was certainly heavy in millenial imagery. I also loved the promise of the king - my bible says that "David" will be in fact Jesus, "the greater David in David's dynasty".

What struck me was this part:
"Your wound is incurable And your injury is serious. There is no one to plead your cause; No healing for your sore"

then:
"'For I will restore you to health And I will heal you of your wounds', declares the Lord"

Our sin is incurable, but for the mercy of our Lord.
