I love God's promise at the end of this chapter - "They shall be My people, and I will be their God; and I will give them one heart and one way...I will rejoice over them...and will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul" vv38-41

I love that we can know that God's fulfilling of this promise will be as faithful as His promise to scatter. He always does what He says.

I was struck by the same verse. "I will make them truly want to be one people with one goal. They will truly want to worship me all their lives, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.... I will make them want to respect me so they will never turn away from me." vv39-40

What got me is that it is the Lord planting the desire... *I will make them*. How often we think our own faithfulness depends on our own get up and go. When we need to throw ourselves on the Lord and ask Him to give us disdain for evil, hunger for righteousness and the desire to walk in His ways.
