In a list of corrupt kings, Manasseh would rank near the top. His life was a catalog of evil deeds including idol worship, sacrificing his own children, and Temple desecration. Eventually, however, he realized his sins and cried out to God for forgiveness. And God listened. If God can forgive Manasseh, surely he can forgive anyone!

Wow. What a turnaround. Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that can pardon and cleanse within. Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all my sin.

Makes me think about how our sins can echo consequences for generations... in ch.32, God forgives Hez's pride, and the Lord saved them from His wrath DURING HEZ'S LIFETIME. Maybe that's why Manasseh has such an awful streak? Verse 10 strikes fear in me... the Lord actually SPOKE to Manasseh, and he and his people paid NO attention. Eeeps. DANGER, people DANGER!!!!

I would love to know how vs.13 played out... what did that journey look like, and how did the Babylonians take that? After his repentance, Manny was really thorough in cleansing his kingdom, hey?

Yeah, wow. The grace of God is completely a mystery, SO great.

I love this chapter because it seems pretty unique from so many kings who started out ok and didn't end well. He did it the way that matters, ende well!

His conversion reminds me of mine... sometimes people really have to be taken to a low place to finally hear the call...

Boy his son didn't last long huh!?

In the past I have always seen this chapter as so beautiful and powerful (about God grabbing a person and making them his own) and I still do but my brother was talking with yesterday about how God's grace isn't always pretty... to our eyes anyhow... wonder how many people thought Manasseh wasn't worth the forgiveness and grace he got... wonder how many might have been hurt by him and saw him as such a bad king they just wanted away with him? So glad God's grace is beyond us!
