Matthew 13

This chapter always brings me to question the soil of my heart. Is it soft and receptive, ready for what the Lord has to teach me? Or is it rocky with undealt with sins that hinder the work of His Holy Spirit. Or is it weedy with worldly distractions that keep me from even being able to catch sight of Him. It is a discipline to keep picking rocks and weeding the aisles of my heart and clearing a path ready to receive and be blessed by His cultivating work in my life.

I grieve the soil that has not been nurtured when the seed is planted. Friends and young people I know, where the ground is so hard or shallow that the seed has not thrived. Definitely firms my resolve for purposeful conversations and relationships.
