1 Corinthians 4

This chapter is sooo sobering. The truth of the matter is that the faithful and mature will be called deeper in and higher up and that will require sacrifice and surrender. There is no getting around it. This is one of the things that I appreciate so much about our homeschooling curriculum. It is continuously introducing us to lives of character that make difficult choices and don't just follow the status quo. It gives us true heroes to look to, and these true heroes aren't found in super hero movies or on the cover of Vogue magazine, they are found in the trenches, giving, loving, serving, sacrificing, living lives sold out for Christ. I pray that this year, as I face a new year, one year older, I will have grown up in more ways than age.

"Paul urged the Corinthians to think of him, Peter, and Apollos as mere servants of Christ entrusted with the secret things of God. A servant does what his master tells him to do. We must do what God tells us to do in the Bible and through his Holy Spirit. Each day God presents us with needs and opportunities that challenge us to do what we know is right."

Thank you ladies for your comments each day. Sorry for not commenting much. The more I read, the more I realize how much more I have to learn:) I too pray that as I grow older I will grow in the knowledge of God, not just in age! Love you guys!

Don't apologize! But don't be intimidated either! Did you read the portion in the sidebar entitled "A FEW INTRODUCTORY WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT..." Check it out, and share whatever rests on YOUR heart after reading the passage. Don't feel that you have to have something revolutionary to share, the point is just to "connect" and feel that connection, that we are all seeking to know God fuller through His word. Praying for you to grow and be blessed through your time in His word.

Kerri, I start by writing notes from my Bible that have stood out for me. Even just copy a verse that has stood out! You don't have to make deep comments - just come, participate and enjoy! So nice to have you here!
