Interesting - how great is our tendency to say exactly that? Things never used to be this bad...

"In the day of prosperity be happy, But in the day of adversity consider - God has made the one as well as the other" (v14)

We know there is nothing outside of God's power and control. Whether adversity comes directly from God or simply from the result of living in a fallen world, God is still sovereign over it all, and only He has knowledge of what the future holds.

Not sure though what to make of verse 28. Does this mean that no women are upright or wise? Yikes.

vs. 28 - BG your question. LAB says it does not mean that no women are virtuous because in the book of Proverbs (I don't have the reference) Solomon personified wisdom as a responsible women. The point of the statement is that hardly anyone, man or woman, is upright before God.

I guess sometimes I wish it would just say what it means or vice versa. And that would be my human nature and lack of wisdom speaking.
