Job 38-40
Wow. That's all I can say every time I read this section. Just wow. I have never had trouble understanding God's sovereignty - I am almost more comfortable with that aspect of His nature than any other. He is God. Who are we to question His ways?
"Will the faultfinder content with the Almighty? Let him who reproves God answer it" 40:1
and then Job's response:
"Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to You? I lay my hand on my mouth" 40:4
I think I just find it comforting - my insignificance in the face of God's greatness.

Hosea 1-2
this is so terrible and so beautiful at the same time. The language is almost shocking, as is the imagery.
But I love how in ch 2 God promises that the punishment will not last forever:
"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wilderness and speak kindly to her. Then I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth" 2:14-15
How beautiful. That just speaks to me of God's grace toward us. That we can be restored almost to a time when we were "fresh", no matter what our sins were.

Always love to get a glimpse into what the Lord is speaking to you. Lifts me from cleaning toilets to heavenly places ;). So beautiful to connect heart to heart amidst the mundane. I am smack dab in the middle of this "Living Beyond Yourself" bible study by Beth Moore and LOVING it. So many great challenges and such great fellowship with some young women who are thirsting passionately after Jesus in the highs and the lows.

So good to "see" you here.

mmmm...you too. I'm finding (making?) a little more room for discipline in my days - running, Bible, housework...it just feels so good to do it. I think the way I feel after a run is very similar to the way I feel when I sit down with my Bible. If that makes sense.

Running & devotions - I find when those two things are in place, other stuff flows out of them. When I run in the morning, I tend to eat a bit better throughout the day, I drink more water, and I have more energy. When I read my Bible/do my devotions, I find things flowing out of my character - (hopefully) more patience, but mostly a greater awareness of God's presence in my day.

whoa. how's that for getting philosophical...
