genesis 19. my thoughts from this chapter were led into the ideas of equality and how Jesus represented that. In this culture, men were the elite, women were "possessions". Thus Lot would go to great lengths to protect the guests in his home, even at the expense of handing his own daughters over to be raped. How vile to have this mindset that your wives, your daughters, women, were worth nothing more than cattle, maybe less. Jesus life and teachings flew in the face of that. He elevated the low and laid low the proud and he brought all mankind, male and female, slave and free on equal footing before the Father. The fact that He revealed himself to women at the tomb and told them to go back and tell the disciples is glorious. The testimony of women was not even permissible in court cases of the day. No prejudice, no injustice, no degradation is found in the pages of scripture, men are called to esteem others, serve others, and practice mutual submission. It is such a beautiful path.

You who use God's name to back up your promises
and pray to the God of Israel?
But do you mean it?
   Do you live like it?

Do you see what I've done?
I've refined you, but not without fire.
I've tested you like silver in the furnace of affliction.
Out of myself, simply because of who I am, I do what I do.

"I am God, your God,
who teaches you how to live right and well.
I show you what to do, where to go.
If you had listened all along to what I told you,
your life would have flowed full like a river,
blessings rolling in like waves from the sea.

What lessons we can learn...

2 Tim 1:2
"All the best from our God and Christ be yours! To Be Bold with God's Gifts"

v 7
"God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible."

To all you people who read this today, this is my prayer for you ...

Nice to see some thoughts shared here :)

>>2 Tim 1:2 Grace (favor and spiritual blessing), mercy, and [heart] peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord!<<

heart peace. I love that. I can only have that, in its fullness when I have a proper view of God and my relationship towards Him, and what it is He desires for me to *get*.

>>v7 but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.<<

a life verse for me. He has brought me so far, still so far to go.

>>v12 for I know (perceive, have knowledge of, and am acquainted with) Him Whom I have believed<<

know, perceive, have knowledge of and be acquainted with the One we have beleived in... that's our gretest calling, our purpose, the relationship upon which all else hinges. Oh to know Him more.

>>v16 for he often showed me kindness and ministered to my needs [comforting and reviving and bracing me like fresh air]! <<

what a wonderful memory for someone to have of you. I want to be a breath of fresh air.
