verse 3 The Lord had commanded this to happen to the people... to remove them from his presence, because of all the sins of Manseh. He had killed many innocent people and filled Jerusalem with their blood and the Lord would not forgive these sins."

Morgenthaler anyone? If and when judgement comes on our nation because of it's sins of murder and sexual atrocities, the judgement is gonna hit us too.

all this happened because the Lord was angry with them, finally He threw them out of His presence. v20
Ever think that when there is a spiritual famine, and God is distant, and we aren't experiencing His presence, that it has something to do with this. Some sin we are in denial about, something that makes God just say for a time; "okay, have it your way.. but don't come crying to me when..." consequences huh? Yea, we are saved by grace, but we walk in fellowship with Him when we are seeking His will, not running blindly after our own. Am I off base here?

reminds me a bit of the sermon on Sunday - what I caught of it anyway.

This just reminds me that God is not blind or deaf. He sees and hears exactly what is going on and in His timing will unleash His Holy discipline.
My heart yearns to be in the center of God's will, I don't want to be "blindly running after" my own will.
Dear God, open my eyes and my ears. Help me to seek Your will
above my own.

Urgent prayer request* My husbands boss and his wife ( ages 62 and 52) were involved in a motorcycle wreck Sun. afternoon. She was killed and he is in trauma intensive care. He is already doing better than expected, but still has a very long road of recovery (mentally(from losing his wife) and physically). Please remember this precious family in your prayers. They are Christians, which makes this situation better.

The motorcycle that they wrecked on was actually my Daddy's. We sold it to them after my precious father passed away. The accident happened on the 2 yr anniversary of my Dad's death.

Oh Leanne, I prayed for this man just now, as best as my feeble humanness could. What a tragedy from a human perspective. Praying for the supernatural, for an eternal perspective and strength and hope and peace to grace this man's life and ease the raw pain of earthly emotions.

And so hard for you to have that happen on the anniversary of your father's death. Praying His peace that passes understanding for all of you.

Thank you so much for the prayers! I know from experience that only God can heal hurts that run that deep. Thank you again, you truly have blessed my day. Leanne
