Exodus 14

Okay, THIS is what I love about reading the bible like this. So I just read THIS in Isaiah; "Where is the one who put His Holy Spirit among them, who led Moses by the right hand with His wonderful power, who divided the water before them to make His name famous forever, who led the people through the deep waters?.... Lord, that is the way You led Your people, and by this You won for Yourself wonderful fame."

and then about Israel's hardness of heart. and then about God's mercy and grace to the gentiles, and then about His joining both gentile and jew together under the yoke of His grace, and then flashback to the moment it all began. The moment referred to in the Isaiah passage.

I LOVE this. This is history and literature and heavenly and earthly drama at it's best. In all of our attempts to create art and entertainment, noone will every come close to competing with the living and active Word.

wow, there was a lot here today.

The Egyptians are coming, the Israelites are terrified, and Moses says:
"Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord...The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace [be quiet]" v13-14

Reminded me of the verse "Cease striving, and know that I am God..." ps 46:10

Yeah, I love that verse too. And I find what follows it very interesting; "WThen the Lord said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Command the Israelites to start moving..."

Like we need to be calm and trust and rely on Him but we also need to put feet to our faith. Very eye opening.
