"God has chose my son Solomon, who is youg and hasn't yet learned what he needs to know, but the work is important." v1

I love this. God doesn't pick perfect and ready people to do His work. He picks the inexperienced fumbling, bumbling every day folk. It is in submitting to the call when we are bumbling and inexperienced that we gain wisdom and experience.

"These things did not really come from me and my people. Everything comes from You; we have given You back what You gave us." v14

Love this.

"We are like foreigners and strangers, as our ancestors were. Our time on earth is like a shadow." v15

I always find verses like this strangely encouraging. Other people struggle with this same feeling of being made for something more. The prologue mentality of life. The "camping" sense of this life that is just a sojourn on the way to eternity.

"Make Your people want to serve You always, and make them want to obey You. Give my son Solomon a desire to serve You. Help Him always obey Your commands, laws and rules." v18,19

Amen, Lord. Let it be for my children and for their children and children's children after them.
