2 Chronicles 12

This is what the Lord says; "You have left me, so now I will leave you to face Shishak alone." v5

Who wants to face the giants of life alone? I talked to my kids about this, about keeping our hand in the hand of God and not turning our back on Him, so that when we face trials we will have His support and strength to carry us through, rather than facing consequences of evil on our own as Shishak did. Walking with God, minute by minute, choice by choice.

"But they will become slaves so that they may learn the difference between My service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries" v.8

Serving the Lord should not feel like a burden or an obligation - when we compare it to service here, it should feel like and be a pleasure. The easiest thing in the world should be to serve our Lord, to do the things that He has commanded us to do, and to honor Him in our work, attitude, and actions.

I'm working on it.

"He did evil because he did not set his heart to seek the Lord"

I don't know that I can say that about myself all the time - that my heart is set to seek the Lord. In a subconscious way, sure, seeking the Lord would probably underly my decisions and actions, but I don't think I consistently do it in an intentional way. I don't think I'm mindful of it in the way that I need to be.

Wow. This is awesome stuff. You really "get it" about taking the Word to heart and claiming it for yourself. Love to see your heart here, it brought tears to my eyes.
