what a perfect example of the warning just offered in Timothy 4. "because the time will come when people will not listen to the true teaching but will find many more teachers who please them by saying the things they want to hear. They will stop listening to the truth and will begin to follow false stories." vv3,4

"There is one other prophet here. We could ask the Lod through him, but I hate him. He never prophesies anything good about me, but always something bad." v7

I found it interesting that Micaiah DID tell the king exactly what he wanted to hear, but the the king KNEW that was not the truth and yet in his stubborness pushed through with his own will anyway.

We can try to twist the scriptures to justify our own distorted will but we know in our hearts we are abusing truth and we will not find happiness or fulfillment in trying to contort God into my own image. True joy is found when I lay down my own agenda and see Him for who He is and pick up my cross and say "I want to be like that."

I almost laughed out loud at this passage, when Ahab complained about Micaiah never telling him anything good about himself. And then when Micaiah does prophesy, Ahab says, "see, TOLD YOU he never says anything good about me..."
Too funny.
But also tragic. Ahab tries to hide and disguise himself, and yet nothing can stop the hand of the Lord from accomplishing what He has set out.
