"You killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword of the Ammonites and took his wife to be your wife. Now there will always be people in your family who will die by a sword, because you did not respect me; you took the wife of Uriah the Hittite for yourself... "While you watch, I will take your wives from you and give them to someone who is very close to you. He will have sexual relations with your wives and everyone will know it." v 8-11

As you reap, shall you sow. David's sin was going to revisit and plague him, and not him alone but he opened a door for sin to plague and destroy his family. If we knew that our sins would desensitize and create callous hearts n our children and as a result of that in their chidren, would it cause us to tread with greater caution and concern?

oh, I also was greatly comforted by;

"The Lord has taken away your sin..." v13

God's grace, but the grace and forgiveness did not ease the horrible consequences and the fact that respect was lost for David's God on account of his behavior. So sad.
