I know I'm playing catch-up here, but I wanted to comment on the commendation of Hezekiah as king at the end of the chapter. Man, that I would come to the end of my days and have this said about me... what a beautiful testimony.

What a great chapter on the concept of giving, tithing, God's storehouse.

What stood out to me was;

When the Passover celebration was finished, allt he Israelites in Jerusaelm went out to the towns of Judah. There they smashed the stone pillars used to worship gods. They cut down the Asherah idols and destroyed the altars..." v1

Oh that we would be so zealous in smasing the idols in our own lives.

"Since the people began to bring their offerings to the Temple of the Lord, we have had plenty to eat and plenty left over, beause the Lord has blessed the people. So we have all this left over." v10

Oh that we would be so generous, to dish it out freely, and experience His blessing.

"Hezekiah tried to obey God in his service... and he tried to obey God's teachings and commands. He gave himself fully to his work for God. So he had success." v21

What an epitaph. Let it be. for me. Let it be.
