"The priests could not continue their work, because the Temple was filled with the glory of the Lord." v11

This just silences me. Can you imagine? Do we get this? Do we realize the privilege we have of being temples that are designed to house the Lord's glory? And He wants to fill us with such power and glory to transform our lives if only we surrender. If only we come, empty ourselves of all the crap of humanity and say, "fill me, Lord." I am awed by this today.

"When Your people, the Israelites, sin against You, their enemies will defeat them." I know who my enemies are... demonic ones that is... I know the ones that wait at my doorstep just looking to get their foot in the door and squeeze their way in and wreak havoc in my life and home. And I know when they defeat me. It's when I am not living a spirit filled life. When I am SINNING in thought or action my attitude starts to spiral and I know it is not God's glory that is reflecting from me, but my own ugly sin nature spurred on by my enemies who love to see me wallow.

"When they sin against You, You will stop the rain from falling on their land.... they will stop sinning when you make them suffer." v35

What a miserable lot is humanity. Why is it we must go our own way, to hit rock bottom and then realize that really, our only happiness is in surrender to His will? Then, even when the drought does come, we have an anchor of trust in Him, and we need not be afraid.

I always love reading your comments Prairie Chick!

"But will God really live on earth? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you..." (v.27). It is truly amazing that even though the heavens cannot contain God He is willing to live in our hearts! Luke asked me the other day how could Jesus fit in our hearts LOL!

Other interesting readings...
"For 480 years after Israel's escape from Egypt, God did not ask his people to build a temple for him. Instead, he emphasized the importance of his presence among them and their need for spiritual leaders. It is easy to think of a building as the focus of God's presence and power, but God chooses and uses PEOPLE to do his work. Building or enlarging our place of worship may be necessary, but it should never take priority over developing spiritual leaders."

Just finished watching "Facing the Giants". Bawled my eyes out through pretty much the whole thing and just couldn't go to bed without reading my Bible.

Goodnight ladies!
