"It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you, the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious to God."

Oh, how I love this verse. Oh, how want it to be a life verse for me!

"In the same way, you husbands should live with your wives in an understanding way, since they are weaker than you." v7 Love how this verse came to life for us this past week. Beautiful truth.
"He must look for peace and work for it." v11

Love that verse. Another life verse for me.

"always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have, but answer in a gentle way and with respect." v 15-16

Another life verse for me, one I have seen alot of growth in thanks to God's grace and help. Still want to improve so much in this area.

I was struck by a few things this time... one is in vs.7... the sweet, inclusive way Peter speaks about "heirs with you of the gracious gift of life" but also noticed the next part - "so that nothing will hinder your prayers".

vs. 15 always jumps out at me, reminding me of the gentleness and respect that I so often leave home without!!

This time, though, vs.21 was brought to my attention... the water during the flood symbolized baptism - the pledge of a good conscience toward God.
