The words that are given to the young men are just as relevant for me--be humble, cast all your anxieties on him, be self controlled and alert, resist him (the devil). I find so much truth in the last part of verse 9--"...standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings." It fascinates me that although we are all different the struggles around the world are so much the same because God made us all witih that same need for him...and Peter, through God's wisdom, knew it long before we were all connected through the web or any other modern inventions that have made the world a bit smaller.

Love what you had to share here, Jude. I think the words ARE absolutely relevant to us, I think in verse 5 the exhortation moved to "younger people" and how they should submit to leadership and then how everyone in the flock "all of you" should be very humble.

That part is what stood out to me. "All of you should be VERY humble with each other." v5. Oh how much humility I could use in my life. SO much. It's such a pill to swallow, but such a lifegiving sustenance when we learn to digest it.

I also breathed deeply when I read; "Peace to all who are in Christ." v13

Peace was the word I chose for last year, and what a blessing it was to seek peace and pursue it.

v10, where it talked about "after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong andsupport you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in His glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever." sent me searching our Revelation 2:10 and Christ's words to the church at Smyrna;

"Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer for ten days. But be faithful, even if you have to die, and I will give you the crown of life."
