1 John 2

It has been interesting this week to see the gospel in every passage. To see the SACRIFICE... the REDEMPTION. The COST. It's beautiful.

I was struck by v6. "Whoever says that he lives in God must live as Jesus lived." Some might call that legalism. That, people, is obedience. Big difference there.

also, "do not love the world or the things in the world. If you love the world, the love of the Father is not in you. These are the ways of the world, wanting to please our sinful selves, wanting the sinful things we see, and being too proud of what we have. None of these come from the Father, but all of them come from the world. The world and everything that people want in it are passing aay, but the person who does what God wants lives forever." v13-17

"if you know that Christ is all that is right, you know that all who do right are God's children." v28

"He has shown you, oh man, what is good and what the Lord requires of you. To act rightly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

It's floodgate day. The day after all those dry, desert, soul searching moments this week, the day when the floodgates break and each and every verse is like a wave of mercy and grace and light and life, washing over my soul. I think those dry thirsty days are important... they make you drink all the deeper and enjoy it all the more when the well springs forth.

Praise the Lamb!

Altho' the dry days are important, I am glad that your floodgates have opened!

The same verses struck me. They are all powerful.
v6. yes I agree, it is obedience and as we tell our Sunday school class o=f; that is, obedience equals freeedom. It is another of God's blessings that are hidden from our hearts unless we take that step to trust. I remember how hard it was for me to change and trust him for the blessing (when I think back I guess that I thought I needed a reward for my obedience)and then being blessed beyond what I could hope for with freedom for my spirit. God is good!
