"when the Ark left the camp, Moses said, "Rise up, Lord! Scatter Your enemies: make those who hate You run from You." v35

What a prayer! What a way to ask for God's vanguard to go ahead and clear the path! It really made me think how I don't do this enough on a spiritual level. I do commit my day and my comings and goings to the Lord, but this. This is something more. This is assertive spiritual warfare. I think I am much more of a defensive player. Lord, protect me from the arrows of the enemy. But this is more than that. This is asking the enemy to be scattered, laid low, placed out of commission. This is requesting offensive play on the part of our Lord and His angels.

Amen, PC. Very cool observation!

v29-31 I did not know that Moses invited his father-in-law along for the journey and to share in "whatever good things the Lord gives us". I just kinda like that someone outside of the children of Abraham would be allowed, if they wished, to come on the journey.

"By complimenting Hobab's wilderness skills, Moses let him know he was needed. People cannot know you appreciate them if you do not tell them they are important to you. Complimenting those who deserve it builds lasting relationships and helps people know they are valued. Think about those who have helped you this month. What can you do to let them know how much you need and appreciate them?"

Ah, PC! I cannot help but think of you my dear friend.

PC, such confidence in our God in that statement! And so it should be placed! We need our Lord in the spiritual realm so desperately to be our guide and protector!
