"There will never be any order as long as your mother Jezebel worships idols and uses witchcraft." v22

It's really not about externals is it? It's the state of our heart that really determines the outcome of our effectiveness and our attitude.

I've been thinking about this alot since reading this yesterday;

http://raisinghomemakers.com/?p=422&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+RaisingHomemakers+%28Raising+Homemakers%29&utm_content=Google+Reader

namely, this part:

"But truly to be a good homemaker it takes just one thing – DILIGENCE! It’s not the tool in your hand – it’s your heart! You can read all the websites and magazines and books on cleaning and own every gadget and gizmo – but if you lack diligence and have not given homemaking your time – you just won’t get it all done."

I guess it might seem weird to others, but it's the message niggling at my own heart. There will never be peace and order in my own life if my heart isn't in the right place.

I believe this is 2 Kings 9 :)

Absolutely PC!! DILIGENCE is key to soooo many things!

"The riders met Jehu and asked if he came in peace. But Jehu responded, "What do you know about peace?" Peace, properly understood, comes from God. It is not genuine except when rooted in belief in God and love for him. Jehu knew the men represented a disobedient king. Don't seek peace and friendship with those who are enemies of the good and the true. Lasting peace can come only from knowing God who gives it to us."

"Jezebel's skull, feet, and hands were all that remained of her evil life - no power, no money, no prestige, no royal finery, no family, no spiritual heritage. In the end, her life of luxury and treachery amounted to nothing. Power, health, and wealth may make you feel as if you can live forever. But death strips everyone of all external security. The time to set your life's course is now, while you still have time and before your heart becomes hardened. The end will come soon enough."

"so the young prophet did as he was told and went to Ramoth Gilead." verse 4

"Then the young prophet poured olive oil over Jehu's head and said, "This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says, 'I annoint you king over all th e Lord's people of Israel." verse 6

God must have made the young prophet brave,I know I would be to scared to send the message if God didn't make me brave.God wanted this to happen so he must have made the prophet brave.I am sure if God wants us to do something scary God will make us brave.

Thanks for sharing the link PC. In addition to your quote this also stood out to me:

"Homemaking takes time and will keep you quite busy! The home is where the molding of children’s hearts takes place. The home is where your husband finds comfort and solace, where your children can share their passions and grow intellectually, spiritually and emotionally. Because we live in a fallen world – your home will never be perfect. Please do not strive for perfection – you will frustrate yourself and all who live in your home. But on the opposing side, please do not neglect your home believing that there is something greater and with more meaning outside the doors of your home."

That post made me think of some stuff we discussed Denise, I'm glad you liked it. I changed the title reference!
