Numbers 19

I was given pause for thought at verse 12. "They must wash themselves with the cleansing water on the third day and the seventh day; then they will be clean. But if they do not wash themselves on the third day and on the sevent day, they cannot be clean."

Okay, I don't know if I may be reading something into this that isn't intended to be there, it's possible. But the "third" and "seventh" days stood out to me. Elsewhere in scripture the third day is the day of redemption. The seventh day the sabbath rest.

Our faith in the redeeming work of Christ, and our consequent mindset of making Him priority in our life (which I start to seriously wonder/believe is what the Sabbath is partially about, to keep everything in its proper place in our life, and give God/Christ that place of prominence in our week by setting aside that seventh day)...

I'm rambling, I know, but just thinking it's possible that this is a symbolic picture/reflection of the state of my heart, 1. I must experience third day redemption of Jesus Christ and 2. that will result in a softening of my heart and submission to His good orders for my life (keeping the sabbath).

just a rambling rabbit trail... might not have any merit at all but it's where my thoughts went.
