sin, punishment, redemption lifted up, on a pole, for the healing and redemption of all who believe. It all points to Jesus.

I can't read about the Israelites without feeling frustrated & angry at them & then reminded of how very similar I am to them. Great point Prairie Chick!

Isn't that the truth? You look at them and say "idiots!" and then think, oh yeah... I'm such an idiot too! LOL

So GREAT to have you fellowship here!

They seem very confident of the Lord's direction as far as battles and occupation goes. I know they had a cloud/pillar of fire, and that God spoke to Moses. That must have made things clearer.(I also realize that hearing and obeying are very different) I find that even with His Spirit leading me, it is often hard to hear His voice... too much clutter in my life, I presume. It's easy for me to talk to God, not so easy for me to listen quietly.

Definitely a reminder of Christ...

Chris I remember a preacher advising me to see my prayer time as a two way conversation and like with people I should make sure when I ask a question or for guidance I give the Lord a chance to respond:) I have always liked that idea.

We really do have to purposely de-clutter our lives and minds and hearts to be able to hear from the Lord.
