"Moses asked God to appoint a leader who was capable of directing both external and internal affairs - one who could lead them in battle but who would also care for their needs. The Lord responded by appointing Joshua. Many people want to be known as leaders. Some are very capable of reaching their goals, while others care deeply for the people in their charge. The best leaders are both goal-oriented and people-oriented."

I really need to learn to come to the Lord and His word when I am down and out and not feeling well. Thanks for not giving up here PC.

I love that God agrees to look out for his daughters as well as his sons. vs.7

Somehow I didn't remember this special anointing in Joshua's life.

You are blessed even as you remember to come, Denise. Keep coming, I love that we can share this together.

This is the passage where the Bollinger granddaughter gets her name "Noah". vs. 1 (just for interest sake)
In chapter 36 of Numbers it says the daughters could only keep their inheritance if they married within their own tribe. Do you think they could keep it if they didn't marry at all?
It amazes me, and I don't know why it should, that God thinks of everything - He's interested in minimizing the leadership gap and helping Joshua transition into his new position. vs. 20. Those of us in leadership positions should strive to do that as well as caring about the position as well as the people.
