Job 4

I read JOb and I think about how we focus on the temporal. Job lost everything we say. What is the saying by Jim Elliot? Blessed is the man who gives what he can not keep, to gain what he cannot lose? I think that's it.

"Though outwardly we are wasting away, y et inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and MOMENTARY troubles are achieving fur us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Paul (who wrote this) endured trials that I would not label "light" or necessarily "momentary". But they were such to him because he lived in light of eternity.

MY devotional notes say; "the worst mistake of all would be to conclude that God is somehow content to make a few minor adjustments to this tragic, unfair world. God is in the business of eternity, it's what everything is pointing to... this is just the prologue.
