"This is a voice of one who calls out in the desert: PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD." V3

Not sure if it is connected to your reference to the song yesterday, but Days of Elijah just erupted in my head yesterday when I read this.

I love advent. I love how it stills my heart and makes me look ahead and anticipate this second coming of our Lord. I love anticipation and it is the greatest anticipation of all. My heart thrills within me at the thought. Gonna go and pump that tune right now

BEHOLD HE COMES
RIDING ON THE CLOUDS
SHINING LIKE THE SUN
AT THE TRUMPET CALL
LIFT YOUR VOICE
IT'S THE YEAR OF JUBILEE
AND OUT OF ZION'S HILL SALVATION COMES.

This could be the year!!!! Happy New Year everyone! May you have His JOY and PEACE whatever your circumstances in the year to come.

I love the joy spilling from your post, dear pchick.

I noticed vs.40 today... the leper says to Jesus "If you are willing, you can make me clean." I often think about the way that I ask for things from God, either for myself or for others. (The speaker (Louis somebody) at church started this particular vein of thought this last year) Not that there is a magic formula, but that my heart would have my theology right... that God is ultimately in control of all, knowing the outcome of all and yet desiring that I ask for things through the power of Jesus' name.

Also, that Jesus commanded the man to return to the temple and still sacrifice as Jewish protocol commanded, in order to have a testimony among the Jews.

mmmm...I love that song. It gives me chills when we sing it.

I'm always amazed at the response Jesus gets from the disciples as He calls them. They just drop everything, and follow Him. It seems as if they don't question Him, or have any hesitations. I'm not sure if that was the case, but it always amazes me how immediate their response is.

New book, new year, new beginnings for all of us. What will we do to help "prepare the way"? Will we explain the need for forgiveness, demonstrate God's teachings by our conduct and tell others how Christ can give their life meaning? Let this be a challenge for each one of us.

Happy New Year to you all. Yes indeed, this could be the year of His coming! Enjoy the Peace and Joy that comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
