I found the politics in this chapter fascinating. The 1 sheep out of 200 given (so obviously from the rich) to provide for the sin offerings of all. And the strong rebuke to the governing leaders about fairness and justice.

What am I giving to the Lord as His holy portion today? It's neat that not only was there a holy ground, there was room set aside within that space to separate it from the Most Holy Place.
Our culture, our present North American church (not the building) lacks an understanding of the holiness of God. (as do I) To fully comprehend what kind of purity and reverence God deserves and expects is a little mindblowing... especially when I think of the intimate relationship that this Father desires to have with us.
Purify my heart, let me be as gold, pure gold.
(at the same time, I fear the refining process!!)
