Job 22

JOb is starting to look really LONG to me, and kind of repetitive. I'm getting tired of all this going back and forth about "I'm innocent!" "No you're not!" "Yes, I am!"... ad nauseum. Sorry, it's how I feel this morning.

"Can anyone be of real use to God? Can even a wise person do Him good? Does it help the Almighty for you to be good? Does He gain anything if you are innocent?" v2-3

This is pretty eye opening. God doesn't NEED us. But that makes the fact that He chooses to collaborate with us (by enlisting our prayers and service to be part of what He is doing) so remarkable.

Eliphaz really lamblasted Job today. Yikes.

At least this is Eliphaz' final speech!! I agree PC it's seeming long and repetitive.
I'm just so thankful that when we repent our sins are forgiven because of what Jesus did on the cross in our behalf.

lamblasted - exactly what I was thinking :)

It is repetitive, but aren't we often like that? Hammering on our point to get it across? Maybe it's just a good example of how blinded we can get by our own opinions, and how closed off we can be to other possibilities.
Kind of makes me want to pray for a mind that is open to God's direction and not narrowed by my own understanding.
