Just read over the other chapter's comments...so true, Pchick- that it is easy to forget the mirror's reflection and not work on the imperfections we see. This passage reminds me of a couple in 'first' love... absolutely everything about their beloved is entrancing and mysterious. As we mature in our relationships, those mysteries are deeper but also need seeking out... the things that captivate me now are much more intimate... the physical is interwoven with character.

Also love the imagery of a locked garden, protected and intended for only one person.

"My darling, everything about you is beautiful, and there is nothing at all wrong with you." v7

first love, indeed :) I also love the picture of chastity and intimacy tied up in the locked garden imagery. This is a very beautiful chapter.

We should all love God like this,we are like his bride and we are waiting for the day he will come to take us away to his kingdom just like a bride waits to be taken to her husbands new home.

I haven't written on here for a long time and when I read this chapter I suddenly thought that I should love doing devotions and serving God more than anything else and that I need to make a better effort to make myself as close to God as I can.
