Gen 48 "The God who has been my shepherd, all my life, to this very day."

I love this picture. When we walk through the valley He is with us, when we kick it up in pastures green, He is with us, when we thirst, face the wolf, get lost or wounded... always with us He is there to lead us to water, slay the enemy, carry us and bind our wounds. Every day of our life.

You know, I look at Saul, and the crazy mood swings and passions and failures and I really do see myself reflected there. I can love deeply and I can become deeply coldhearted and closeminded. I can ride the tidal wave of spiritual highs and then get road rash as I hit the pavement face first.

"Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside."

ah, the light that shines on the darkness of the soul. This resonated with me. I hate it when I get so tied up and torn up and bitter over perceived or actual offense. Life is too short. Time is too precious. How does bitterness taste and how does turmoil feel? God promises to flood us with grace and beauty and peace and joy if only we ask and are willing to be transformed.

Jeremiah 11:3. "Cursed is anyone who does not obey the terms of my covenant."

v 15 "What right do my beloved people have to come to my Temple when they have so many immoral things? Can their vows and sacrifices prevent their destruction?"

No. No they can't. Thank you Lord for the blood of the New Covenant. Thank you that we are now clothed in the righteousness of Christ and that there is therefore no more condemnation.

Ezekiel 5

Ezekiel 5, lessons from the life of Ezekiel:

-even the repeated failures of his people will not prevent God's plan for the world from being fulfilled (I love this.)

-Each person's response to God's determines his or her eternal destiny.

-God has people through whom he can work even in seemingly hopeless situations.

Matthew 13. So no sooner do I start to read this chapter and I am just struck powerfully by something in the opening verse. Jesus left the house and sat beside the lake and a large crowd came and gathered around him. He didn't have a plan. He wasn't implementing a program. He just WAS and WHO He was was a draw... it drew people to Him and He received people, and interacted with people and revealed Himself to those who came. This is so freeing for me. Our circle of influence is wherever we sit and it's being true to our calling where we are at. Wherever that is. I am so blessed and encouraged by this that I just want to hold on to that thought and not even read a word further for tonight.

and I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart again to those who prayed for me a month or so back when I was so low. I am so encouraged by the amazing way that God responds to the prayers of His people.

1 Peter 4 "God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."

The purpose of our gifts are to serve one another, support one another, encourage one another, minister to one another. So beautiful.
