Exodus 19

"You saw how I carried you out of Egypt, as if on eagle's wings and brought you here (in the desert-to this mountain) to Me." v4

This verse made me think of Revelation 12:14 when the final assault is being made on Israel and it says, "But the woman (Israel, prepresented by a woman clothed in the sun, with the moon under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head, representative of the dreams of Joseph in which his mother and father were the moon and the sun, and his brothers were stars)was given the two wings of a great eagle so she could fly to th eplace prepared for her in the desert. There she would be taken care of for three and a half years, away from the snake."

As it was then, God's protection and redemption being brought into play, so will it be in the last days. Can you imagine?? I love Revelation. I love how it takes "clues" from all over the bible and tells a story in almost complete code, decipherable only to he who is completely steeped in scripture. It's like this huge puzzle/codebreaker God threw in at the end to engage and dazzle the likes of me and I LOVE it.

I found verses 9-13 frightening. All the caution to be taken about not coming too close or one would be ostracized for execution. The pointing forward to the redemption of Christ is evidenced here... "they must prepare themselves, if they don't they will be punished." I am so thankful the veil has been torn, but so afraid that I take it for granted and don't treat Him with the reverence that is His due.
