"There are many people who refuse to cooperate, who talk about worthless things and led otehrs into the wrong way- mainly those who say all who are not Jews must be circumcised. These people must be stopped, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching things they should not teach..." vv10-12

pretty clear here that circumcision was not a recquisite (and is outlined almost as being a stumbling block in this context) to following Christ, therefore 2 questions arise for me. The neo-judeo christians (messianic as they call themselves I believe, but not in the pure sense of a Jew turned to Christ, in a borrowed/distorted sense of a believer turned back to the OT covenants) believe that the law is still something we should dilligently follow, not for the purpose of salvation but for the "good" of our lives. And yet here Paul is teaching against circumcision.

Secondly, makes me wonder how I inadvertently add to the gospel. Tack on requirements and legalisms and extras that really, when you strip the gospel down to it's bare and pure truth, it's about loving God and loving others. Period.
