wow. okay. so the chapter itself kind of left me speechless, but the devotional reading in the margin hit me like a sledgehammer.

"Successful people are at the right place at the right time to a great extent because they have learned how to take certain action steps in proper sequence. They have learned that scriptural truth, "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." They know that everything they desire has an appropriate place and time for accomplishment.

What about those who are unsuccessful? It is possible they planted or fertilized their goals in the wrong season. They planted before they fully planned. They attempted to harvest a goal before it was fully developed.

Such failures arise not from a lack of determination or willingness to keep trying but from efforts that are out of proper sequence. The result is thoat those who fail because of thier improper alignment of time and place soon become frustrated, begin to believe that it's impossible for them to achieve anything significant, or allow their disappointments to develop into a failure anticipating mindset.

If you want success in life, then all your activities must reflect God's will. Today, make God the center of your life. Ask God to show you what successful living means for you. Then rest easy in God's peace and His plans."

Harsh... I don't know if I would have had much to say until I read your ladies comments.

I agree with Berry Girl that you can't help but notice Benaiah and all that he had to do to get Solomon officially set up...

"Ask God to show you what successful living means for you. Then rest easy in God's peace and His plans."

Prairie Chick, this was very applicable to how I felt when reading the chapter... About six months ago I felt this lesson really hit home for me. I am not in a place in life where I beleive, any longer, that all dreams we have are God given. Often we need to surrender and love God more then our plans. I now seek to dream and desire what God has for me... it is a process though and just today I went back through journalings of mine, about this lesson, and had to bring to remembrance why I am okay with letting my dreams go, CUZ God's dreams for me are so much greater! I want to align with my Lord and Savior!

I've been thinking about this all day. We can so easily succumb to making our own plans and dreams and then asking God to bless them, or feeling heartbroken when they aren't realized, when what God wants is for us to open our hands and say; "Lord, what do you have for me? What are Your plans for me regarding my work, my future, my DAY." And then submitting to it, joyfully and trusting that He indeed has good plans for those who love Him and are called according to HIS PURPOSES. Not ours. It's insanely revolutionary.
