"You have great love for me. You have saved me from death." v13

Like Job, who said "For I know that my Redeemer lives, and I will stand I with Him on that day." There are little verses like this one scattered throughout the old testament that point to the OT people having a firm understanding of the Messiah, and His purpose and the gospel message. They understood their falleness, their need for a redeemer and they anticipated His redemption. So do we anticipate His second coming. And how.

86:11-14
"This prayer within a prayer captures a glimpse of vibrant spiritual vitality. Two requests are made: "teach me your ways" and "grant me purity of heart". Each request has a God centered purpose: that the person praying would "live according to your truth" and "honor you". No matter how well we know and follow God, we can always ask him to increase our awareness and improve our obedience. Jesus echoed one of these requests in the sixth beatitude, "God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:8). Commit this prayer to memory and use it often."

What a meaning ful psalm.

v11 "Teach me your ways Olord, and I will walk in your truth; Give me an undivided heart that I may fear your name."

I have been studying about the undivided heart. As in the case of pride, one must keep examining the heart for what draws us away from God--that which is not always bad but which creeps into our lives and is not of his will.
