v8-start of 11 "Moses also said to Korah, 'Now listen, you Levites! Isn't it enough for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the rest of the Israelite community and brought you near himself to do the work at the Lord's tabernacle and to stand before thecommunity and minister to them? He has brought you and all your fellow Levites near himself, but now you are trying to get the priesthood too. It is against the Lord that you and all your followers have banded together.'"

Poud has reared its ugly head. A few weeks ago I remember reading that Moses was the most humble man on the face of the earth. It occurs to me that it would take a very humble person to lead the people the way Moses did. He did very little rebelling and was happy to hand things over to the Lord whenever the opportunity appeared. He desired the Lord's will. He stands in stark contrast to many of the leaders who came after him...the kings who would not walk in the way of the Lord but rather chose their own gods. It is becoming more and more apparent to me how pride interferes...no wonder god hates it so much.

Can't say God doesn't mean business. Whoa.

Moses was sure in a lousy position. On the one hand, he was obedient and courageous (with help). On the other, he was unloaded on by the Israelites constantly, and SO often he pleaded with God for their lives.

"You and all your followers must stand before the Lord tomorrow. And Aaron will stnad there with you and them." v16

This verse just made me think what it will be like to stand before the Lord, will the accuser be there? I know my advocate will be there, but what a thought, to have a trial before the Lord of the universe that tests the motives of your heart, the works of your hands, the "kingdom" you have built for yourself through where you have given your time, your passions, your money, your heart. What will stand the flame? I know that it is only because of our advocate that we will stand before our Maker, but what endures, what withstands the flame, is only what we have done in His name and for the eternal good of His kingdom. All else will burn up like dried grass. Another thought that is stuck fast with me from the book I am reading, that an undivided heart means that whatever we do, we are doing it in Jesus name, which can be thought of as doing it in Jesus character. Am I wearing this outfit in the character of Jesus? Can I watch this program in the character of Jesus? Are the choices I am making in line with the character of Jesus? Wow.
