so, this chapter just really, really sollidifies what we talked about in family devotions yesterday. it was about the qualities and characteristics of God. How do we view God? Do we view Him as mostly loving? Mostly forgiving? Mostly Holy? Mostly just? Mostly gracious? He is all those things, but in their entirety and at once.

God IS love, He IS forgiving, but He IS just. Not more one than the other. It's rather mind boggling but so important and essential to understanding His interactions with us and relating to Him and living rightly before Him.

'the days are prolonged, and every vision fails'

The arrogance of this statement and the false view of how God works that comes from it is scary. The idea that what he has said will fail to happen and that we can slack off and expect nothing is easy to find in the minds of people today. The idea that he doesn't stay involved in our world is a popular lie. I am thankful he is involved and the amount of communication that went from his, through his prophets and on to the people is a clear example of how very involved our God is.

goosebumps here. Just looked back at the verse you were referencing and the heading "The Visions Will Come True."

Oh yes. They will. I am so awash in the truth of this today and so blessed in the knowledge of His sovreignty.

Very cool to then look at his version of the proverb isn't it! Powerful! The truth is such a powerful statement in comparison to the weakly lie.
